Moire I

Susan Collett is a Canadian artist who plays with the notion of the vessel and the matrix, creating a dichotomy between strength and frailty. Her 2009 work Moire I can be found in Trump Hollywood’s Grand Lobby.

Susan graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art with a BFA degree in Print-making and Ceramics. Since 1993 she has run a full-time studio art practice in downtown Toronto.

Collett’s multi-layered sculptures bare a resemblance to some of nature’s finest corals, shells and sediments. Her works also mimic mysterious archeological finds, including objects such as rocks, bones and nests.
